Rex Mbewe is a State Registered Nurse with strong passion for sick babies and children. He holds a University Diploma in Nursing sciences obtained in 2008 from Malawi College of Health Sciences.

He has extensive experience as a Peaditric Nurse. He has previously worked for Malawi government’s Ministry of health as a peaditric Nurse and as a project coordinator in a project focusing on control of insect vectors and conducting mobile clinics. He has also worked as a Pediatric Palliative Care Nurse at the Palliative Care Support Trust, where he provided care to children with chronic illnesses (admitted to the hospital and in their communities).

He has also worked as a Peadriatic nurse at the Open Arms Infant Home, providing 24/7 Nursing care to orphaned neonates and babies who had lost their mothers during child birth.

He has now joined the IMPALA project as a Research Nurse and se looks forward to using his expertise as a Peaditric Nurse when admitting patients to the study.
