Alick Vweza is a lecturer in biomedical engineering at Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences, Blantyre, Malawi. He is a 2021 PhD candidate at Jeonbuk National University, South Korea, where his research focuses on the application of computational methods in understanding self-organizing dynamics in cell biology, specifically via intracellular phase separation. He is also passionate about the application of basic engineering principles in designing low-cost medical devices for resource-constrained settings. To this end, he has worked on the development of low-cost phototherapy devices currently being used across hospitals in Malawi. His wild dreams are to have a reggae hit song and design an AI-powered camera for birdwatching, a hobby he enjoys.
