This system has the potential to save up to one million children’s lives every year Timely detection of critical conditions in hospitalized children is essential to save their lives. Currently, the monitoring systems needed for this are not available in certain settings. With this project, we strive to address that challenge. Project IMPALA demonstrates the importance of collaboration among various disciplines, institutions, and countries. The project builds on strong inter-university connections, as well as the collaboration between researchers in Malawi and Europe.
